The Invicta 1463 is an impressive piece, make no mistake about it. When you remove it from the box, you know you're dealing with a well-made watch. It's got HEFT. So the first thing I can ask a potential buyer of the 1463 is "do you like weighty watches?" If the answer is "no", then by all means, move on to something else. I wear it and I kid my wife I'm working on the muscles in my left arm... but after the first day I wore it, I realized I might not have been kidding.
The watch is beautiful and noticeable. If you come in to work wearing it for the first time, people will either compliment you for it or ask you about it. The silver band is classic, but if your hand is palm-up so that you can't see the watch face, it may also be mistaken for heavy metal concert jewelry. It's beefy metal! The white face is bordered by a thick black band and the hands are an interesting black-white (luminous) hybrid. All in all, the face is busy, with a date window just south of... Read more

I love watches, whether for function or fashion. And large chronograph analog watches start to blend the two perfectly in my opinion. This watch has all the checklist items I like to have: Waterproof, Chronograph, Date Time, and an Attractive design. However, the choice Invicta made to have the chronograph start/stop and reset buttons be screw down basically kills the functionality of this watch. I understand the crown being screw down for enhanced water tightness since it needs to turn, but the chronograph buttons just push in and could easily have a membrane inside to remove this limitation. So the chronograph is out, lets talk about looks... It's big, but not by Invicta standards so it's not a striking head turner and the bezel takes up a lot of the face and it looks like it would be equally at home on a much cheaper watch. - As with many Invicta watches, it gets attention! So if you are in the mood for a big watch that will get noticed, look to this brand...
- Being part of Invicta's Reserve series (hand assembled, individually inspected; the signed inspection certificate is included), some people like these watches more for collecting and admiring than wearing.
- The watch is big, thick, and hip -- but at 45 mm, this line is actually not so big as to be outrageous or unwearable. Yes, it will dwarf the average watch. And yes, some fashion "experts" say that a man's watch should not exceed 40 mm (unless the man is an NFL football player or Sumo wrestler). The watch will still fit under the sleeve of a dress shirt -- though barely; it doesn't slip in and out quite as easily as one might like. But overall, this watch does make a statement: bold...but...
